Opportunity for Work & Learning – 60th Anniversary Film
Planning | Production | Post-Production
Contracted to produce a 60th anniversary film for Opportunity for Work & Learning, this project required complete execution under a highly compressed timeline. The goal was to honor six decades of impact while clearly communicating OWL’s mission, history, and future direction.
The production was planned, shot, edited, and delivered on an accelerated schedule. Over the course of two production days, we conducted multiple interviews with executive leadership, staff, and program participants. The film blended contemporary interviews with carefully integrated archival video and historic photography to create a cohesive narrative spanning from the organization’s founding in 1961 to its present-day initiatives.
The story centered on OWL’s origins, founded by parents determined to create meaningful employment opportunities for adults with disabilities, and traced the organization’s evolution into a strategic, mission-driven nonprofit with a unique for-profit manufacturing arm supporting its long-term sustainability.
Particular care was given to shaping the emotional arc of the film. Personal stories of individual growth, supported employment, and long-term career success were interwoven with organizational milestones, facility expansion plans, and future-focused initiatives such as the Skill Trade Academy. The final piece balanced legacy, credibility, and forward momentum.
This project required:
• Rapid pre-production planning and interview development
• Coordinated two-day on-location production
• Archival media sourcing and restoration integration
• Narrative structuring from multi-speaker interviews
• Full post-production editing, sound design, and delivery
The finished film serves as both a commemorative piece and a strategic communications asset, reinforcing OWL’s identity as a community-rooted organization dedicated to sustained, supported employment and long-term impact.
